Everything about First Toast Cocktails, in one page.
This page explains the whole business in plain language: who we are, where we work, what we sell, what things cost and how to book. No navigating needed.
Who we are
First Toast Cocktails makes fresh bottled cocktails and runs staffed cocktail services in Scotland. We are based in Ayr, in Ayrshire.
The business is run by Jax, who has spent close to thirty years in hospitality. Everything is made by hand in small batches with fresh ingredients and proper spirits, and every bottle is made for the date it is going out on rather than sitting in a warehouse.
Where we work
Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Irvine, Kilmarnock and the whole of Ayrshire. Glasgow, Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire. Stirling and Edinburgh and the rest of central Scotland. Anywhere further is possible, usually with a small travel contribution, so it is always worth asking.
What we can and cannot sell right now
Two things are sellable today. The first is trade supply to licensed premises: a licensed venue buys bottles from us and sells them under its own licence. The second is our services, where First Toast staff attend the event and run the drinks.
We do not sell bottles direct to the public. There is no shop and no delivery to your door. Direct public sales are coming once our licensing is complete, and you can join the waiting list from the home page if you want to hear when that happens.
For venues: trade supply, launching soon
One offer for licensed venues, hotels, wedding venues and restaurants: trade supply of fresh bottled cocktails. Not open yet, but venues can register interest now to be first in line and lock in founding trade pricing.
Cocktail on the Table
The main selling idea. The venue puts a bottle on each table with a shaker, a measure, ice and an instruction card, and guests measure, shake and pour their own. It is designed for the moments that clog the bar: arrival, the toast, between courses, or as the alternative to wine service during the meal. It clears the arrival and toast bottleneck without adding a single member of bar staff. Fresh, made to order, no queue.
Other ways to use the bottles
Arrival drinks without a bar queue. A cocktail hour between ceremony and meal. By the glass at the bar. Built into function and package pricing. The venue runs it however it likes.
Trade pricing
Recommended retail price is £10 per cocktail. Indicative trade price is £25 to £28 per 750ml bottle depending on volume. A 750ml bottle serves six cocktails, so one bottle on the table is £60 of sales.
The real argument is labour, not percentage. There is zero prep time, zero spec training, zero waste from half-used fresh ingredients, and no skilled bartender needed to pour it. Anyone on the floor can serve it and it tastes the same every time.
Delivery is charged separately, or you can collect free from us in Ayr. Trade pricing is confirmed at launch and volume is negotiable. Trade supply is to licensed premises only.
DIY and events: three offers
1. The Wedding Table Service
Cocktails delivered and set up on the tables with everything needed: glassware, shaker, ice and measure. A First Toast staff member stays throughout to support guests and keep things moving, and photographs guests shaking their own cocktails. Those photographs come back to the couple afterwards and give the wedding album a genuinely different set of images from the usual run.
2. The Cocktail Hour Station
A staffed station for the drinks reception, run one of two ways. Self-make is where guests shake their own with our staff guiding them, and it becomes the entertainment for the hour. Fully served is where our staff make everything and hand it over finished, which is quicker and calmer if the day is tight. Priced individually on numbers and hours.
3. Cocktail Masterclasses
For hen parties, birthdays, corporate teams and private groups. Hosted by a professional mixologist, all equipment and ingredients included, and we are mobile so we come to you.
Masterclass prices
- The Shake, from £45 per person. 2 cocktails per person, 2 hours, all equipment, glassware and fresh ingredients included.
- The Signature, from £60 per person, our most popular. 3 cocktails per person, 2.5 hours, welcome cocktail on arrival, all equipment, glassware and fresh ingredients included.
- The Atelier, from £75 per person. 4 cocktails per person, 3 hours, welcome cocktail on arrival, a bespoke signature cocktail designed with the group on the night, printed recipe cards to take away, all equipment, glassware and fresh ingredients included.
Minimum eight guests and a £480 minimum spend per booking. Prices are starting points and every group is quoted individually. Travel included across Ayrshire and Glasgow, further afield quoted.
The drinks
The range covers the classics people actually order: Espresso Martini, Pornstar Martini, Margarita, Strawberry Daiquiri, Cosmopolitan, Piña Colada and more, plus alcohol-free versions. Anything built on gin, vodka, rum or tequila can be made to the exact same recipe with a 0% spirit.
Every 750ml bottle serves six cocktails. Tell us about allergies when you enquire and we will confirm the full ingredient list for each serve.
Booking and contact
Email cocktails@firsttoast.co.uk or use the enquiry form on the venues page or the events page. We reply to every enquiry within two working days.
Summer Saturdays book up early, so six to twelve months ahead is sensible for a wedding. Masterclasses and parties often come together in a few weeks. Trade orders need about two weeks for a first delivery and a few days after that.
All drinks are for those aged 18 and over. Please drink responsibly.
