Where we work across the city
Glasgow weddings split into three types for us. Hotels in the city centre, where everything is already licensed and the timings run tight. Dry hire and warehouse spaces around the Merchant City and the East End, where the room comes empty and everything has to be brought in. And West End townhouses and smaller venues, which are beautiful and almost always have stairs.
Outside the city we cover Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire on the same terms. Paisley, Erskine, Newton Mearns, Bothwell, Hamilton and East Kilbride are all standard travel for us.

Timing, access and the bit that catches people out
We come up from Ayr, which is about fifty minutes on the M77. That part is easy. The part that needs planning is getting into the building.
City venues rarely give you the room all day. There is often another event out in the morning, a service lift shared with the kitchen, and a loading bay with a twenty minute limit. So we ask for the real access time rather than the one on the running order, and we build our setup around it. Two hours before service for a station, ninety minutes for table service.
If your ceremony and your dinner are in the same room, the turnaround is the pressure point. We set up away from that room so the flip can happen behind closed doors while your guests are with us.
The spaces, and what each one needs from us
Hotels are the simplest. Licensed, staffed, lifts that work. The only thing to sort is permission, because most hotels will want to talk about their own bar first.
Dry hire and warehouse spaces are our favourite rooms to work in and the most planning. No bar, no glassware, sometimes no hot water. We bring all of it. We just need to know about water, power, unloading and lifts before we quote.
Townhouses and West End venues look incredible in photographs and usually mean carrying kit up a flight or two. Not a problem, we just turn up earlier.

Cocktail on the Table, staffed
Bottled cocktails set on the tables for the wedding breakfast, poured and topped up by our team. Six serves per 750ml bottle at 125ml. It gives your photographer something to shoot and it fills the gap while speeches are being set up. Quoted on numbers and table count.
Cocktail Hour Station
A staffed station for the drinks reception. Self-make if you want the room lively, fully served if you have photographs to get through and a tight run of the day. In city venues we usually go fully served, because turnaround between the ceremony room and the dining room is short.
Cocktail Masterclass
For the hen do, the stag do or the night before. From £45 per person, minimum eight guests. Runs in flats, offices and private rooms across the city.
Table service and stations are quoted individually on numbers, hours and access. Masterclasses start at £45 per person with a minimum of eight guests and a £480 minimum spend. Travel within Glasgow, Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire is included.
Licensing at a Glasgow wedding venue
Most city weddings are in a licensed venue. Hotels, restaurants, golf clubs and the bigger function suites all hold their own licence, and that licence covers the drinks. There is nothing for you to do and no extra notice needed.
Dry hire is different. Warehouse spaces, studios, some townhouses and most community halls are not licensed. In that case an occasional licence has to be applied for, and we apply for it, not you. Inside the city it goes to Glasgow City Licensing Board. If your venue is in Paisley, Newton Mearns, Bothwell or East Kilbride it goes to that council's board instead.
Either way it has to be submitted at least five weeks before your wedding date. That is the only route and there is no way round it, so tell us the venue as early as you can and we will confirm which case you are in straight away.

Some will, some will not, and it is always worth asking early rather than assuming. City hotels are usually protective of bar spend, so the version that gets agreed most often is table service during the wedding breakfast, because it does not compete with their bar. Ask them, then send us their answer and we will work with it.
